Dear Friends and Supporters
We are delighted to invite you to our Annual General Meeting this year to be held on Wednesday 26th October at the Roseland Inn in Philleigh starting at 7.00 pm. It will be a wonderful opportunity to get together and to catch up with friends – old and new! We would be pleased if you would join us there – nibbles will be provided. Please let us know if you are planning to attend.
We will be reporting on our activities last year and announcing our plans for the 2023 Festival (Wednesday 26 April to Sunday 7 May]. Our Annual Report will be given at the meeting, and we will be publishing it on our website in due course. We will report on what we achieved during 2022, and our Chair will also present our plans for the 2023 Festival. We think we have put together an excellent mixture of old favourites and new events.
A key feature of the regular AGM is to nominate a Committee for the following year. The members of the 2022 Committee who wish to serve again for 2023 are:
- Graham Turpin, Chair
- Josh Hoole, nominated as Vice-Chair for 2023
- Diana Lockwood, Committee Member
- Penny Leach, Committee Member.
Additional nominations are :
- Dave Cherrill, nominated as Treasurer for 2023
- Jane Lovett, Committee Member.
Jane Gillespie steps down as Secretary and we are urgently looking for someone to take on all or part of her role. We would like to thank Mike Purvis for stepping in as Interim Treasurer during 2022.
We are as ever very keen to have new Committee members, so please come forward if you would like to join our small, friendly team. As well as filling the Secretary’s position, we would also like to find someone to co-ordinate the Friends scheme. A person to oversee advertising and sponsorship would also be very helpful. Any nominations should be received by Wednesday 19 October. The 2023 Committee will be confirmed at the AGM.
