20 Jan AGM – Cancelled
It is with regret that we have had to cancel the Annual General Meeting for 2020-21. The reasons for the AGM cancellation are:
- A reasonable date can not be set given the expected length of current COVID restrictions
- A face-to-face AGM would be impossible under current COVID restrictions because of the numbers who usually attend (around 30)
- A virtual AGM would not be feasible.
We have had to make a minor amendment to our Constitution to clarify how to handle our AGM in these unprecedented times. You can see it here or I am happy to send you a printed copy if you would like one [secretary@roselandfestival.co.uk].
We are pleased to publish our Annual Report. It is not as good as telling you at our meeting what we achieved during 2020, but hopefully it will show that, even without 2020 events, we were able to support arts-related projects on the Roseland. As you will see from the Chair’s report, we are still unable to make firm plans for 2021. We will be in touch again as soon as we have news.
A key feature of the regular AGM is to nominate a Committee for the following year. Andy Thomas and Tara Robinson have stepped down. Nominations will be considered as received for the members of the 2020 Committee who wish to serve again for 2021:
- Sue Fallick, Chair
- Graham Turpin, Vice Chair
- Jane Stephens, Treasurer
- Jane Gillespie, Secretary
- Josh Hoole, Committee Member.
Our Chair has told you in her report how desperate we are for new Committee members, and so please come forward if you are able to help by joining our team. A nomination form is available for you to download. If you would like any further information about becoming a Committee member, please get in touch with me or Sue Fallick. Any nominations should be received by Monday 15 February. Nominations will be accepted as approved by the AGM. Should nominations exceed vacancies, Friends will be invited to make a selection. The 2021 Committee will be confirmed on or soon after 28 February.
Please feel free to contact me [secretary@roselandfestival.co.uk] if you have any comments or would like further information.
