Today would have been the opening day of the 2020 Roseland Festival.
The morning would have started with a guided walk , Carloggas Downs – Industrial Landscape to Wildlife Haven, guided by David Hall, Chairman of Wild Roseland and Ivor Bowditch, China Clay historian. They would have traced the development of the lunar landscaped area into a haven for flora and fauna. During the last 45 years, an industrial landscape is being transformed by restoration into a heathland and woodland haven for wildlife.
The wonderful St Austell Town Band would have provided music for a Saturday night out in St Mawes. Hear them here and see more about them here.
On Sunday, Colin Hastings would have launched his Carbon Buddy Project. The Carbon Buddy Project’s ambition is to expand the people actively and effectively reducing their carbon emissions. The Carbon Buddy Manual guides two friends (Carbon Buddies) step by step through a range of activities which result in a “personal pollution” reduction plan tailored to their own lifestyles.
The Plume of Feathers in Portscatho was the venue for our Quiz night. We would have challenged you with a mixture of general knowledge, trivia and local interest questions. Prizes included a hamper kindly provided by Portscatho Stores.
