16 Nov Annual General Meeting 2019
We will be holding the Annual General Meeting of the Roseland Festival on THURSDAY 16 OCTOBER 2019. We will all be meeting in the Roseland Inn in Philleigh at 7.00 pm. Please come along and join us to discuss plans for the 2020 Roseland Festival and elect the new Committee.
The 2020 Festival will start on SATURDAY 25 APRIL and end on SATURDAY 9 MAY 2020.
We will be pleased to report to all our Friends and supporters about the 2019 Festival. As ever, it was a wonderful 10 days with a wide variety of shows and activities. We sang along with the Kit Hillbillies and loved Edwina Hayes and Geoff Lakeman. We made pots with Fran Osborne and essential oil fragrances with Tara Robinson. We had fascinating authors, Robert Goddard and Patrick Gale, tell us about their recent work. We had wonderful talks from Roddy de Normann about the D-Day landings and from Grace Jones about the Gweek Seal Sanctuary. All this and much more – including the ever-popular Fal River trip.
Most current Committee members are happy to stand again and we have one nomination for another member to join us. If you would like to become more involved with this wonderful Festival by joining the Committee, please let us know by 3 October (email secretary@roselandfestival.co.uk). We’re always delighted to welcome extra members.
We are pleased to be working with the Radford Trust to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Since its launch in 1970 the Trust has helped thousands of young Cornish musicians. The concert on 3 May will celebrate the Trust’s achievements and its continuing impact it has on the musical life in Cornwall. The popular local band, The Stowes, will be our 2020 finale. We have plenty of ideas for new events as well as old favourites but would love to hear what you would like to see at your local Festival.
Please come along and join us at the Roseland Inn – nibbles will be provided. If you can’t come in person, please do keep an eye on our soon-to-be-revamped website. There will be announcements about the 2020 programme as it takes shape and news via our social media.
