The 2017 Festival ran from Saturday 22 April to Saturday 6 May.  We were kindly assisted by the Cornish Riviera Box Office with the ticket sales.

Cider and Jazz Festival

Sounds of jazz and tastes of cider in the wonderful St Mawes Castle.

The Call of the Running Tide

A concert by international pianist Shelagh Sutherland who returned to Cornwall with piano solos from Bach to Poulenc and snapshots from the life of a freelance musician.

Swallows & Amazons

Sophie Neville, who starred as Titty, talked about the making of the 1974 production of Swallows and Amazons prior to the film being shown.

Monday 24 April

Making Dosh from Dough

Joel Hepworth, Operations Manager at Da Bara Bakery, talked about the growth of the business from its early days to a renowned Cornish producer of artisan bread.

Terry Gosden and Andy Ancrum, The Journeymen, played blues and an eclectic mix of music, including contemporary rock.

A Walk in the Hidden Valley

A guided walk with Ivor Bowditch, Fellow of the Institute of Quarrying. This hidden valley is unique in retaining features from the china clay / stone industry, from 19^th century to the early 1960s, and is now a haven for wild life.

Singing and poetry by Opus Anglicanum in a beautiful church and wonderful location.

WILD ROSELAND – photography exhibition

The very first exhibition of Wild Roseland Photography, including entries from all the Roseland schools of ‘Close Encounters of the Natural Kind’.

Canvas & Rum

Performance by the North South Theatre inspired by tales such as Moby Dick & Heart of the Sea but based on historical figures & events in Falmouth.

Classic meets Steam

We listened to Rob Wing talk about his 1911 traction engine ‘Clinker’ and much loved 1926 Bentley car ‘Yogi’. Pasty and pint were included.
